Invergordon Academy is a small secondary school 25 miles north east of Inverness in the Highlands of Scotland. We have just over 400 pupils and about 40 staff.
The Languages Department is operated by Mr. Scott, Mrs Hanson and Mr. Fernie.
We offer courses at various levels in French and Spanish to pupils from S1 to S6.
We were recently fitted out a computer, digital projector and DVD player in each of our rooms, so that means we are able to use a considerable variety of methods to educate, stimulate and even entertain our pupils!
In S1 and S2 we use "Metro 1" and "Metro 2" respectively.
In each year we cover six units, with a course booklet and homework booklet provided for each unit.
This work is reinforced with Boardworks, an interactive set of exercises and grammatical explanations which uses Powerpoint.
We also make considerable use of DVD and video clips.
